BBC Proms
Hi everyone, I'm Angus, one of the Source FM's presenters. Over the summer I went up to London 3 times with Press Tickets to 3 BBC Proms 2009. Heres my report:

"The first Prom was Tchaikovsky’s Second Piano Concerto played by Stephen Hough and the atmosphere and concert was amazing. My favourite part of the whole day was coming round the corner in the bus and just seeing the great Albert Hall, just stunning!
The second concert was Beethoven’s Ninth Choral Symphony. The sheer volume was so powerful, especially with the great acoustics in the Albert Hall.
The third and final concert was Handel’s glorious Messiah. Now, this was the best concert for me because not only did I take part in the Proms Family Singing Day, I did some interviews - in fact, loads of them. The main interview was with Roger Wright, the controller (director) of BBC Radio 3, head of the BBC Proms and Head of Classical Music for the BBC (long title). It was fantastic to meet him, I found it quite nerve-wracking plus it was my first interview ever for my show. Well better to start at the top than the bottom I say!
I met and interviewed four members of the Scunthorpe Junior Choir (Radio 3 Choir of the Year 2008) who were going to be singing in the big concert of Messiah. They were lovely and really excited to be singing in a 300 strong choir at the Albert Hall. They were
great fun (my dad liked their northern accent as a northerner himself!).
Then I interviewed Sue Hollingworth and Julia Regan, the two Sing-Up leaders who ran the Singing Day. They were both lovely and fantastic teachers!
Then the concert, which was absolutely stunning. I loved the Hallelujah Chorus. The grand organ was out and the orchestra were playing and the choir were full blast, what more could you ask!
About the show
I started hosting my own classical music radio show on The Source FM last spring. On the show I play my favourite classics and talk about classical music. I play requests for anyone who wants to hear a classical song they like. I also play performances by young musicians which are usually great!
What’s coming up
The shows going to start up again on the 4th October. This series will be the same time 11:00 am on Sunday mornings every week. The shows going to consist of classical music, classical talk plus requests and every noun and again a special show. Like a Choral show or a Organ show. As I said I am going to take requests if wanted, if you want a request just email in at classichour@anguswebster.co.uk or visit anguswebster.co.uk/classichour and click on requests."

Nice Work Angus! Really
