In a very closely fought competition to choose a title track for the upcoming Source fm soap opera ‘Carrick Roads’, it is my pleasure to tell you that late last night, a panel of judges reached their final decision. Many of you will know that the issue of the title track to Carrick Roads has been one of the most hotly debated topics throughout the life of the entire station. Therefore, I would like to preface by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part in the project to date and especially to anyone who entered the competition, the standard of all the entries was excellent and the deliberation was long and emotional, arriving at a clear winner was not easy, so thanks as well go to everyone who voted.

 

‘Hollywood’ by All the Fires was chosen for its buoyancy, exuberance and a contemporary edge, which the judges felt very closely mirrored the aspirations of Carrick Roads. Carrick Roads network premier is at 7.30pm on Monday 11th October 2010 to coincide with a secret launch party (watch this space!).
