In order to support their current growth Source Fm are looking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to help develop all of their current processes and operations and deliver a dynamic community radio station

STUDIO MANAGER (0.6 FTE)– SOURCE FM - £16,000 TO £18,000 PER ANNUM PRO RATA

Source fm is a community radio station for Cornwall, made by and for people who live and work within a five mile radius of Falmouth and Penryn. They already have a packed schedule of music, chat, games, and shows broadcast from their studios in Falmouth. The station is run entirely by volunteers of all stages and from all walks of life and is going through a period of considerable growth. This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a thriving radio station with a real community development focus.

Objectives
• Provide a high level of operational support across Source FM programme strands and to act as a first response to and suggest solutions for any technical issues. 
• Provide technical consultation, production planning and creative support to Source FM’s volunteer presenters.
• Work across a variety of IT based broadcast systems.
• Maintain and develop Source FM’s web presence.
• Plan and deliver technical training to Source FM volunteers 
• Assist with outside broadcasts.
• Assist with the delivery of quality radio programmes in accordance with the Source FM’s aims and in line with Ofcom broadcasting laws.
• Support and develop outreach training opportunities for volunteer presenters and suggest appropriate technical solutions to problems.
• Work with a wide range of volunteers and members of the public from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Nature of Work
The positions of Studio Manager will start with an induction period at Source FM, where you will be introduced to the many practical operational skills the job requires. Working closely with the Station Manager you will help to review, develop and build all aspects of the station. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to make a real impact on their local community. You will be required to take a CRB check as part of your role at Source FM.

Personal Skills
Essential Requirements:
• Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline
• Graduates must not have previously been supported in a UCP Graduate Placement programme*
• Technical knowledge gained through formal study or practical experience, in technology and systems used for broadcast and content delivery.
• Experience of web site management
• The ability to prioritise in a deadline driven environment coupled with strong communication and IT skills

Desirable Requirements:
• Experience of having operated technical production or broadcast related equipment. Either through previous experience or as an active hobby/interest. This could be via theatre work (lighting and sound), AV work, music recording, website work, video pre and post-production as well as working in radio, online, TV or other content providers.
• Experience of working with, or as a volunteer and of preparing content for broadcast
• Graduates should ideally (but not necessarily) have graduated within the last 5 years and be unemployed or not fulfilling their graduate potential*

*Eligibility Criteria 
This position is supported by the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme. UCP is a graduate level placement scheme which works with businesses to recruit and support ongoing business development through the placement of a graduate. In some cases, the business may choose to recruit a recent graduate and take advantage of a support package that UCP provides to assist the graduate to be successful in the job role. Duration
The role will initially be for a period of 12 months with the possibility of longer term or permanent.
