James C here on your FM dial. I’ve been collecting vinyl and grooving to underground electronic music since the early 1990s.
Every Saturday from 6pm-8pm Radio Relay will be playing quality underground electronic music the likes of which you never expected to hear on local radio in Cornwall.
Radio Relay strives to promote the work of independent artists and netlabels wherever possible, bringing you something just that little bit different each time. Freeform, non-commercial, approaches to music radio are the driving force behind the show. As such we are not dictated to by fashions and trends marketed and propped-up by the “Dance Music” industry and cash-in merchants affiliated with commercial radio stations. Passionate about electronic music we provide a platform or space for artists to bring their creative interpretations of electronic music to a wider audience. We do so by creating innovative relationships with artists all over the world, inviting them to take control of the output without interfering in the production of the music. This way the music you hear is a reflection of the passion and talent in the underground electronic music scene.
Radio Relay specialises in Acid House, New Beat, Electro, Balearic, Techno, Rave, Ambient, House, Downtempo, Chilled, Breakbeat, Turntablism, Funky Beats and many other styles of EDM. Plenty of crate digging goes on behind the scenes and Radio Relay has a formidable collection of classic and hard to find electronic music anthems that we will be dipping into over the coming weeks bringing back the sound of 88-92 as well as showcasing other EDM (Electronic Dance Music) styles.
