Andrea Kelly plays Karen Carson, the landlady of the local pub The Drunken Sailor. She is 38 years old and single mother to Kitty and Kylie .Although she is a strong woman she has been constantly let down by men so now chooses to have casual flings, generally with men half her age.She had Kitty at a young age (16) and married the father of her children who was 10 years older than her. He left 6 years ago and has never had contact with her or the children since. Her best friend is Sarah from the cafe.
Helen Moore plays Yolandi Farrow, a 16 year old tearaway, rbelling against hey best friend Kirst, A kind hearted girl facing issues about what it means to be gay in present day Cornwall. Yolandi's main story line in Carrick Roads involves her unrequited love an INAPPROPRIATE authority figure, and we hear how Yolandi faces rejection when coming out to her family.
Lauren Avery plays Mary who is married to Ian and they came to Cornwall as Mary was adopted and she believes that her birth mother is in the County and she hopes in time to trace her.She is a counselor and works at the local 'drop in center' where she regularily has sessions with her young client Yolandi.
Fleur graduated from St.Dismas College, Cambridge, last Christmas. Whilst she was studying, her parents have separated. Her father lives in London with a new wife, and her mother has dropped out of her suburban lifestyle to go travelling around South America to find herself. As a result, Fleur has since moved down to live with her Granny in Cornwall Mrs Trent Harrison), who dotes on Fleur and manages to turn a blind eye to her various faults. She is bored out of her mind in Cornwall- believing herself to be superior to most of the locals. She is capable of being manipulative and sly, but is also lonely. Fleur rather fancies the bad boys- but can't quite be bothered with the drama of it all. Fleur is played by Nix Woods
Amélie Baker plays Ruby who is a fashion designer in her mid twenties. Ruby has recently moved down to Penmouth from London to start a new chapter of her life and owns an exclusive boutique in the controversial 'Broad Reaches' development. She's made an instant impression on the community as soon as she arrived and could be a character to watch out for in future storylines. Ruby's younger brother is Ivan.
Cassandra de Valero plays Kirsty-A mischievous, sarcastic fifteen year old girl with attitude. Her best friend is Yolandi and they go to the same school. She hangs out on the pier smoking and generally being cheeky! Bored with life and arrogant to boot! Her parents do not come into play though she does come from a divorced well-to-do family that ended up with money issues thus taking her out of private education to attend her local comprehensive. She is clever and warm hearted deep down but is disillusioned with love, loyalty and life.
Owns a gym with her most recent lover Steve, Tends to get men to help her. Fiona has managed to be financially comfortable after a number of predatory forays into the Penmouth pool. Her motives rest deep in her past - which has left her with a chip on her shoulder and a hunger for money and power - especially in terms of control. Sheila Nissen plays Fiona.
