Rod the Mod

Rod the Mod

Next Wednesday's 'Show Me Them Now' with Dave Garwood is going to be a Rod 'the Mod' Stewart Special, highliting Rod Stewarts early career from his first recordings in 1964 to the end of the Faces in 1974.
There's no special reason, he's not died or anything, but Dave was listening to some the other day and felt it was worth sharing.
It may redress some of the awful images people have of him and his music!

Taxcast on Source FM

Tackle Tax Havens

On the 1st Thursday of each month you will be able to hear a new radio feature Taxcast from radio producer Naomi Fowler on Source FM. Naomi has teamed up with the Tax Justice Nework to ask questions such as:

  • If you or I don't pay our taxes we're prosecuted so why do our tax officials seem to cosy up to big companies like Goldman Sachs and Vodafone?
  • Why are whistleblowers risking everything to speak out publicly against it?
  • What is the shadow banking system?
  • How did the UK and the US become two of the world's largest hubs for tax evasion and tax avoidance?
  • Who are the winners and who are the losers?
  • Why aren't politicians acting to stop it?
  • And what can we do about it?

Taxcast is an entertaining and informative 15 minute monthly feature on Soapbox hosted by Matthew Rogers with the latest news, research and analysis of events in tax evasion, tax avoidance and the shadow banking system. It aims to promote engagement with one of the most important ethical and economic issues of our times. It features headlines, analysis with economist Richard Murphy of Tax Research UK and a mini-documentary.

Matthew will be introducing Taxcast with a special interview with Naomi Fowler at 9.15am on Thursday 2nd of February 2012
