Looking for a new challenge in 2024? Start a volunteering role with a difference

The Cornwall Community Media Network (CCMN) is searching for individuals over 18yrs old and living in Cornwall who are passionate about local media and eager to learn more. They’re starting a Digital Skills Bootcamp which will give participants an introduction to all aspects of community radio, including presenting, content creation, technical support, and other support roles.

Ahead of this, they’re holding two meet and greet events in February for those who are interested to come along and ask questions, speak to the community radio stations involved, find out about volunteer roles and training available to them, and express interest for the bootcamp.

They will be taking place on Tuesday 6 February 18:00-20:00 and Saturday 10 February 10:00-12:00 at BBC Radio Cornwall in Truro.

They are inviting people to join them for a one hour slot in which they receive information about the Digital Skills Bootcamp, speak to the organisations involved about volunteer and training opportunities, and have a tour of the studios.

The Cornwall Community Media Network brings together CHAOS Radio, Coast FM, CHBN and Source FM, and is supported by The CHAOS Group and BBC Radio Cornwall.

Collectively they work together to improve communication and access information across the county, whilst collaborating on ways to help support and improve our communities. They focus on opening up media skills to the people of Cornwall through volunteering opportunities, access to skilled professionals and unique training sessions.

They ask that people only book on to one of these sessions available, please-- this ensures there is space for people to join us in another slot.

If there are any questions ahead of the event, please feel free to email meah@chaosgroupcornwall.co.uk.
