Analogue Cabin

About the programme

Electric George and Discophil began The Analogue Cabin in late 2015 to share their love of disco with the world. Theirs is the disco of Arthur Russell, of dusty and scratched records from charity shops, of David Mancuso, of global rhythms from Italo treats to Afrobeats, of all-night dances and unlabelled re-edits. For them, disco music and the joys or DJing are a celebration of the wonderful variety of sounds and people on this planet. This is why, although disco lies at its heart, The Analogue Cabin will always take you on a journey through the ongoing history of dance music, from soul to techno through boogie and house and, in true DJ Harvey style, selection is more important than the mix. Djing in The Analgoue Cabin is about keeping the fire burning and sharing some of those records that are just a bit too slow or a bit too weird for the dancefloor.

I just discovered your wonderful station! Wow love it....from Barbara Hepworth to the Buzzcocks! Very cool indeed. I grew up as a kid in Cornwall (St. Day and Grampound) in the 60's my family emigrated to California in 1967. My love for anything brewed in Cornwall is strong! I have spent the last 40 years as a Graphic Designer for TV and Print here in Los Angeles, I was also an online DJ for a local station here. So happy to have discovered Source!
