loved your top 10 in no partiklar order....however, using a microwave to par cook your baked potatoes! I have always refused to get a microwave due to all the health implications involved in them & they are a bugga to dispose of when they have been discarded....so overall not so good for the environment.

Thanks Niki and fair point about microwaves. I hope I didn't come across as suggesting people go out and buy one if they didn't have one already! As the majority of households do have them it was just a suggestion of putting them to good use and a way of using less energy.

Cheers, George.

It springs to mind that the old Pink Floyd released more than just one album to be considered good and influential.

you are indeed quite right about Pink Floyd and their influence, it's just that for my tastes Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is the only one that has stood the test of time. I like to stir up a bit of debate.

Syd Barrett

Anonymous — Thu, 2010-02-04 12:01

And of course Syd's solo albums are pure genius, as is Jug Band Blues on Umma Gumma, and the unreleased Vegetable Man, oh and the early singles, basically I lost interest when they kicked Syd out, they seemed to lose the child like whimsy and became a little ..... serious.

Someone ( I hope to know better ) suggested that I listen on line today at 6 p.m. - I was formerly a Radio 2 man , but I am now going to listen to this show whenever it's on . This is 'car crash' radio at it's utter best and I haven't stopped laughing since you started the show ! What can I say ? Plymouth ( and radio 2 ! ) seriously lacks entertainment of this quality . Brilliant ! - keep it up .

LOST & FOUND

Anonymous — Sun, 2009-11-08 14:01

Penguin Cafe Orchestra & Penryn.

Sunday, as the appropriate day to REMEMBER.

Finding the Station on our Radio which has sat on

a shelf in the kitchen doing nothing for Ages....

Sensing

the Value of your Presence, I call to Megan after

looking on the Web for Information.

November 8th 2009.

You jog my memory. An immediate thought

surfaces as I hear you on our Computer for the

very first time. You play Music of,

Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

Thom Podgoretsky at Penryn was Road Manager

for Penguin Cafe Orchestra in 1986 when the

Podgoretsky Family had their home by the Pub,

The Famous Barrel. I arrived with Sharon

Arthurs to visit and that was before the fall

of the Berlin Wall, when we were all frightened

by the Word ... Communism.

Right now I welcome the Community Radio Project.

Time to commune .........

I saw a T Shirt on a Girl .... with the slogan,

Penguins are really Cool, the only thing they

refuse to discuss is Penguinism.

Maybe the age of ' isms is over now.

Realism....... I am very glad to be a Listener.

This Find brings my Computer to Life.

Wishing you success on the Airwaves

as you reach out through Cyberspace

to All Planet Earth .......... BRAVO ~

Top Quality ~ SUCCESS ~

Hi Meg and Kay,

Listening to you from the bonny highlands. Sounding good, definitely liked the "chilled out" track that was just on. Helen says that in Aberystwyth Halloween was just an excsue for men to shave their legs and walk around in skirts - but I have to point out that she went to those party's on her own! Apparently it was something to do with Rock Horror Show. Lots of costumes also used to get set alight as everyone made them out of bin bags - very flammable things!
